Provide helps doctors finance, build, and buy practices of their own. And while we had depicted this through animation, it was time to also highlight these real stories through live action! We had the pleasure of traveling all the way to Georgia for an interview with Dr. Kate, a veterinarian with a relatable and inspiring story.
Expanding upon the Provide universe, they also wanted to highlight some of their partners. One of these partners happened to be Dr. Kate, who they felt truly embodied the passion of other Provide partners.
Only, they didn’t want a script. They wanted an authentic interview, where Dr. Kate could tell her story in a more conversational setting. And while we chatted with Dr. Kate prior to flying down to Georgia, it’s hard to predict everything you’ll learn on set! This led us to finding the story…
The most exciting part of being on set with your character is being able to find the story together. It’s not everyday a writer gets to sit down with their subject, but that’s the magic of interviews. Especially ones with people like Dr. Kate.
We arrived with a list of questions we knew we wanted to ask with the acknowledgement that we may divert to chase a storyline. We listened carefully to Dr. Kate and allowed ourselves to be curious, expanding on certain questions and following her trail of thought.
We also sat down with Jordan, the Provide Regional Director of Practice Finance for veterinary services. He attested to Dr. Kate’s story and showcased Provide not as a hero, but a trusted partner and friend.
We brought the footage back and began editing the story together. This is the third part of “writing” the story. First we establish the questions, then we follow the questions, and then we see where the questions actually lead us. It is in this final stage that we sometimes discover something new, like a bridge between thoughts.
The final story focused on a small business owner with a dream, one that we can certainly relate to. She is truly the hero with Provide as her support team.

We held a couple virtual interviews first, both with Dr. Kate and Jordan, to get to know them each before the official interviews. This allowed us to establish a better plan and stronger questions.
On set, we had the opportunity to hang out with some of the sweetest dogs we’ve met! This also gave Dr. Kate the opportunity to show off her awesome patients and their owners.
We also added some animated moments throughout the video to highlight specific moments and keep the storytelling as playful as the puppies on screen.
